Hello Class,
I am learning lots of German. I can count to 20! Right now I am eating a chocolate that is called Mozart chocolate... it is delicious! We went to a castle and climbed to the top of the mountain, right to the castle top! The castle was called Burg Hochosterwitz. The town is a lot different than ours. There is no spray paint and all the buildings have different colours such as blue, yellow, pink and green. We went on a 4 hour train ride to Italy and walked through the narrow little streets and in Venice there are no cars! We took a boat on the canal to our hotel and back. When we were on Ponte Rialto (a famous bridge called the Rialto Bridge in English), I bought myself a new watch made from Murano glass where we saw glass artists. We went to a glass factory and right in front of our eyes, there was a guy and he made a horse from a ball of melted glass! It took him 5 seconds.
Austria is 9 hours ahead of Campbell River so when we got to Gerd and Kathi's house (where we are staying), my brother and I fell straight asleep for around 8 hours.
In the morning in Austria, they have a huge meal and then at 12:00 in the afternoon, they have a huge supper which is really lunch for us. At supper time (Campbell River time) they have snacks like cheese and crackers, until bed. After supper (Austria time) which is lunch in Canada time, they always have tea and cake. We have had 4 cakes since we have been here!
I sent the class a postcard from Austria and will send another tomorrow (the card from Venice!).
